Historic Beginnings

Today we spent the afternoon with my parents in Old Historic Downtown Sacramento, where reenactment of how life used to be there proceeded.

We started with sketching and taking photos of the cavalry.

An actor (family friend) depicting ol' Sam Brannan.

There was plenty of lively old tunes and jigs being played on every other block of street.

There was an interesting mix of both professional reenactment actors and people who came dressed up just for fun.

Cavalry skill demonstrations went on later in the afternoon.

What better way to end the day but a run-in with the law!
